Super Hi-5 / Man Without Plan - A History in Eleven Parts
Fastmusic

As my brother recently said in another review -- the problem with split CDs
is that one band comes out vastly overshadowing the other one.
On this CD, that band is Man Without Plan. Man Without Plan play quick and
sloppy melodic hardcore. Sounds like the gameplan 6,000,000 other bands are
following, but somehow MWP make it work. Don't ask me how, I am stumped.
I've had this disc sitting around since late summer, and I just can't come
up with any words to describe it other than sloppy melodic hardcore. Go
figure. I guess they're keeping it real.
Super Hi-5, on the other hand, sound like a drunk Hot Water Music. And since
I'm not a big fan of the (presumably sober) Hot Water Music recordings I have
heard, you can bet that I'm not a big fan of a sloppy, drunk-sounding version.
All in all, if you like your punk sloppy (and who doesn't?), pick this split CD
up.
